In a Montessori environment, once children are above 5 years of age, they begin to work without the aid of materials.  Materials are used only for new concepts.  When they go to regular schools at the age of 6, they are already able to read and write languages and also be able to perform various arithmetic operations.

When children reach the age of 6, it is a new stage in their life and at this stage they look to make new friends.   Hence, for most of the children the changeover is very smooth and it is something that they are already looking forward to.

Very much.  Every child will be able to Write and Read all the languages that are introduced to them. 

Being an Authentic Montessori House, writing is introduced before reading at The Pearls Montessori.  Writing begins with Movable Alphabets where children will assemble the Alphabets to make spelling for various words.  Parallelly, for being able to write gracefully and legibly, there are many pre-writing works that the children at The Pearls do, which not only strengthens their grip while holding a pencil but also helps them to write beautifully.

They will graduate to writing on notebook when they are 4yrs 6 months.

Depending upon the number of years they spend in the School, Children will be able to Write and Read English, Hindi and the Regional Language in a Montessori environment.

Montessori is a mixed age group environment.  Since children work with the help of carefully chosen materials, each child will be working with materials of different subjects and topics.  The role of the Montessori Adult is to reach out to the child who needs attention, and also when any new topic is introduced to any child.  Thus, the teaching at The Pearls is mostly 1:1.

 Apart from this there are also collective and group works that are done by the children.  Every child gets personal attention and their progress is observed every day.

Very much.  Most of the Montessori works are comparable to the traditional Gurukul method of learning.  Maria Montessori visited India as early as 1939 and established training centres.  Maria Montessori, her son Mario Montessori, Mr Justen followed by Mrs. Meenakshi Sivaramakrishnan have all contributed immensely to Montessori methodology for the Indian context.

Every festival is celebrated with full involvement of all the children.  Every year children are taken for a field trip that are cultural/ academic in nature.  Sports day is celebrated every year where children participate and earn certificates.  Before every academic year comes to an end, Annual day is celebrated where every child gets to participate in events of their choice.

In all, The Pearls gives equal importance to extra-curricular activities as that of academics.

The fees also include Breakfast, Mid-morning snacks and Lunch depending upon the child’s school timing.

Various schools and Play homes that follow instruction-based education can be done with very less number of materials since they are mostly instruction based.

Hence, the fee at The Pearls is lower than the fees charged by various other schools of same quality and facilities. 

English, Regional Language and Hindi are taught in our school.  Children will have to complete one language before we introduce the other languages. 

Children listen to their inner needs.  Pillars of Montessori education are the Well equipped Montessori environment, Carefully chosen materials and Well trained Montessori Adults (Teachers).  Here learning is voluntary and are offered taking into account the natural curiosity of children.  All types of children when they are offered the right learning at the right time through right method, will work and achieve independent working and learning. 

Our method being an experiential method of learning, there are no teaching that takes place in our environment, only learning takes place.

Children explore freely, learn happily and celebrate their learning with their happiness on their face.

Birth to 6 is the period when every child develops more than anytime in their life.  While Birth to year 1 is a stage of parental support and achieving their mjilestone of mobility, year 1 to 2 is the period the child develops to communicate.  When a child is 2 years of age, they understand what is spoken to them and hence it is the best time to provide them with not only the language but also that of Practical life works and Sensorial works.

Unlike earlier days where Homes are populated only with items that are bare necessitites, current day children have access to lot more of facilities and technologies at home.  Many even take to watching TVs and mobiles which causes immense damage to their physic and pshycic developments.  A well equipped Montessori environment provides them with all that they need to explore. Hence 2 years is certainly the right period to begin learning in the modern day.

Where the management feels that the child needs the support of the parents, the same is discussed with the respective parents and only then they are admitted.

In an authentic Montessori Method, children will be able to perform their tasks that they have mastered without the aid of materials.  All children will be able to do their academic work only with paper and pencil by the time they are 5 years 10 months.  Materials are used only when they learn newer concepts, and sooner they learn the concept they will be able to perform without the aid of the materials.

Playing is amusement and children fall out of amusements very quickly.  Hence we do not believe that is the best way to introduce learning.  Playschools are basically improvised day care centres since in both these places children are kept only for being in a safe place until their parents return to pick them up.

Other methods of education are highly instructions based and children at the age of 2-6 are natural explorers and hence instructions only force them to learn by-heart.

Montessori is based on introducing concepts with the help of specialised and carefully chosen materials they aid their understanding.  While instructions program the surface of their body, experiential learning touches their soul.  Hence there is nothing to memorise in an authentic Montessori method.

Montessori is a method and not a subject.  Hence it cannot be mixed with other methods.  A school can either be a Montessori school or it is not.  There cannot be a hybrid model, and even if one exists, it cannot help the child to develop the way Montessori Method helps.
